Leslie Sansone: 5 Day Slim Down ****** This Leslie Sansone DVD is a little bit different from what we are normally used to, but in a good way. I have tried out a lot of her workouts and even though I really enjoy them (for the most part), there is no denying that they all seem to be almost exact clones of one another. So what makes this one stand out? Well, first of all Leslie is featured by herself throughout the entire program. That means her usual group of walkers does not participate at all. This way she can focus a lot more on giving us accurate cues and instructions and less on goofing around with her crew. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind her joking with them and even find that endearing, but after you have done a particular DVD numerous times it has a tendency of getting old. You can recite the whole sequence by heart. Which may occasionally be a little counterproductive towards the humoristic aspect of the thing. Another variation from the norm consists in the fact that each of the sections (all in all there are 5) has a unique purpose or targets different muscle groups. And so the workout is divided into following segments, each one covering a mile: * Warm Up Walk: Leslie demonstrates her signature moves to get your blood flowing and prepare you for the actual exercises (5 minutes). - Day 1: Classic Walk This is a typical walking workout containing all the basic steps we have learned previously. Serves as a good introduction to the regime, but I would consider it the one to skip if you are pressed for time as it is probably the least effective of all the parts (14 minutes). - Day 2: Sculpt Your Arms  This routine concentrates on training your arms and upper body. By itself it’s relatively harmless, but if you decide to use dumbbells during this entire segment (I always do), you will end up with your limbs burning in a very satisfying way! You can start out with lighter ones and just gradually build up your strength (14 minutes). - Day 3: Slim Your Legs This section targets the legs and butt. Besides the traditional moves such as side steps or kickbacks, Leslie integrates some firming exercises such as squats and lunges into this training. To make it even more effective, I usually stop the DVD to add some more repetitions (about 40-50 of each should do the trick). I know that these are not fun to do, but they truly work miracles for your lower body! For an extra challenge you can also use ankle weights (14 minutes). - Day 4: Trim Your Tummy  This walk focuses on your stomach and waist, helping you achieve a stronger core (14 minutes). - Day 5: Speed Walk This accelerated routine assists in increasing your metabolism, but it still uses all the familiar moves with a short boost (light jogging) at the end of the segment (12 minutes). * Cool Down Walk & Stretch Gently soothe and cool your body down, while stretching all the muscles you’ve just worked (9 minutes). * Bonus Feature  Super Breakfasts Meal Plan: Leslie gives advice on how to best start the day in order to help achieve your weight goals through healthy nutrition (15minutes). I would definitely recommend this DVD as a great addition to your workout regime at home. It’s very easy to follow, low-impact and you can make it more challenging to suit your personal needs by using weights or adding repetitions. This exercising program is also very flexible, as you can mix and match the sections whatever way you wish or perform them all in one go. For best results, however, you should do at least one of them each morning, although two or three would be an even better choice.           BUY ON AMAZON:                           WATCH A CLIP:
