SEDONA ******    LOCATION: LAS VEGAS Website: http://sedonalv.com/ If restaurants had a gender, then Sedona would definitely be a very gorgeous and glamorous young lady, feminine and seductive. You come in and you are literally amazed at how beautifully this place is decorated. The dominating colors are white, cream and red, the décor is completed with a granite bar and granite high tables. There are also normal tables available, of course, and those feature the most comfortable chairs you can imagine, one can cozily sit in those for hours! The floaty curtains, mirrored walls, cool black and white posters and stunning, original light fixtures, sparkling like diamonds, serve to enhance the effect of class and sophistication with a subtle erotic element. The lighting is kept very dim and intimate, which creates a romantic atmosphere full of hidden promise of the exciting events about to commence after the culinary delights are over … And for those who love the warm Vegas summer nights, they can certainly enjoy them on the lovely terrace belonging to the restaurant. Even the restrooms (well at least the one for the Ladies, I thought it might somewhat ruin the whole high-class experience if I was caught exploring the Men’s territory :- )) made a very good impression, they were clean with an interesting design. As far as the food goes, the charming surroundings heightened our expectations and we were not disappointed. All four in our party were very happy with what we ordered; I would particularly recommend the Ahi Tuna Lettuce Wraps in the appetizer selection and steak and lobster as main course. Considering you pay $24 for this entrée it is an incredible value for money and a truly delicious treat. This restaurant also offers fondue and a wonderful selection of seafood and fish. The presentation of the dishes leaves very little to criticize, the arrangement was  tasteful and pleasing to the eye. Their wine list might not be incredible, but nonetheless I am quite certain everybody will find something to their liking there. Well, I can see that someone reading this review might get a little confused at this moment. So if this woman (meaning me, of course:-)) is raving about this place so much, why on Earth did she only give it 4 stars? Is she slightly deranged? Does she habitually dine with the Queen of England, hence only the royal butler can satisfy her special needs?? The way she’s going on about it she should have given this restaurant 6 stars with 2 extra on top for good measure! But please rest assured, the mystery will be readily revealed because, unfortunately, there is a catch (isn’t there always, alas such being the sad way of the world :-)? In this case the thing which spoilt what could have otherwise been a perfect evening was the service. Our waitress, even though not outright rude, was completely detached and simply emanated waves of “I don’t want to be here” and “I don’t care” vibes. Rarely do you see somebody perform their job with less passion or enthusiasm. She took our orders without asking any questions as to our preferences, left so quickly that I half-expected some smoke lingering in her wake, vanishing- magician-style. When the servers brought our appetizers, they just sort of randomly threw them on the table without asking what belonged to whom. Then they were gone again. She reappeared once to ask if we wanted any dessert. We declined, so 5 minutes later she came back with our checks without us even having asked for them! I actually still wanted to order another glass of wine.  And it’s not like they needed the table, since the restaurant was half empty. Our bill was a nice even amount, so on top of that we left her a tip (I know, I know, why do we always tip people that really don’t deserve it??) and thanked her. Then the weirdest thing happened: she brought us the little leather check holder with the tip back. Well, considering the service she provided we were definitely tempted to stick the money back in our wallets :-)! Hmmm, maybe even the waitress came to the conclusion that her hospitality skills were not quite yet worthy of ample reward? If so, then fair game to her, they say self-awareness is the first step to improvement… All in all a great place, but they really need to train their staff better, their attitude is simply unacceptable and unless you are a money-laundering operation actually keen on scaring your potential patrons away, this  kind of service should have no place in the gastronomy world.
