The Auto Collections ****** http://www.autocollections.com/ Located on the 5th floor of the garage at the Quad Resort&Casino in Las Vegas (formerly Imperial Palace), this unique tourist attraction also serves as the world’s largest classic car showroom. This establishment enables you to admire over 250 vehicles displayed on 125,000 Sq. Ft. of space, most of them also available for purchase. The prices vary and range anywhere between thirty thousand and a few million dollars. So if you have some change to spare you can treat yourself to a brand new (well, in this case: brand old) antique car and thus become a part of a bygone era. Which decade you would like to travel back to really depends on your personal taste, as this exhibition basically recreates the history of the car industry from the time of its birth. Therefore you possess a lot of flexibility in your choices and can easily become the owner of a 1930 Buick, a 1950 Rolls- Royce or a 1980 Porsche. In this magical place vintage cars of literally all categories and ages stand at your disposal! But this amazing exhibition also serves as a museum and lets the visitors view numerous classic automobiles of such high caliber that it would be extremely unlikely to encounter them in real life. Because the featured vehicles change constantly (some of them are sold and replaced by new acquisitions), you will never see the same collection twice.  Well, if you go back the next day you might. But since such dedication can only be explained with the assumption that you returned there in the hope of buying the 2.5 million Bentley that previously caught your eye (after winning big on the slots), you probably will not mind the fact that it’s actually still there. If you suck at gambling, however, just give it a few months and you will be delighted by a new selection next time you stop by. The cars on display include those once belonging to celebrities or used by state officials, such as the 1955 Lincoln Capri Convertible driven by Marilyn Monroe or the 1962 Lincoln Continental Towne Limousine serving President John F. Kennedy. Sometimes you discover an exemplar of such rare and mind-blowing beauty that you can’t help but stare at it with great awe, mouth agape, salivating ever so slightly. You commence to read that this is one of only two automobiles of this kind still in existence in the entire world. Then you turn around and there it is: the other one, standing there sparkling in its full glory. I kid you not- this is a true story. And the best thing about this unique experience is the fact that the proprietors kindly allow photography, so you can take as many pictures of these pieces of automotive art as your heart desires. You can even pose next to these treasures and thus acquire a little awareness of what it would feel like to actually own something this cool! If only I had the skills to hot-wire a car, I would love to take one of those babies out for a ride. And later on, while sitting in jail as penance for my little indiscretion, I could entertain my cell-mate Big Bertha with stories of me driving a vintage Cadillac and bask in the well-deserved admiration of her and the Hell’s Chicks Prison Society (gang). Not to mention that these tales could prove to be a very welcome and useful diversion in case the ladies decide to tattoo their club logo (a chicken with horns) on my forehead as part of the initiation. The showroom is open daily from 10 Am-6PM. You should plan at least two hours to view everything thoroughly, but if you are a hard-core car enthusiast then you will probably need more time. The museum provides very interesting descriptions of the cars on display, including little known fun-facts, so this trip can prove to be quite educational. They now also offer an audio tour, supplying you with bits and pieces of exciting info as you walk around. I would recommend this attraction as a must-see if you are in Vegas: it’s definitely an unparalleled and very high-class experience. I have been there three times already and am currently planning to go again soon!
