ZAYTOON ******    LOCATION: LAS VEGAS Website: http://zaytoonlasvegas.com/ Zaytoon is a little Mediterranean bistro with an adjacent supermarket, so that you can have dinner and stock up on your exotic spices all at the same time. And when I say bistro, I really mean it, please do not expect any restaurant quality décor, as it does look rather shabby. They certainly do seem popular though:  the place was so full we just about managed to secure the last table! Our server was extremely friendly and helpful, a real pleasure to deal with. They offer a good variety of Mediterranean dishes, with all the usual suspects rounded up, such as all kinds of dips, hummus and different kebobs. I wanted to try something truly authentic, so I ordered the Barg Kabob (a special Iranian cut of Filet Mignon) and my companion had the Lamb Shish Kabob. Both dishes came with rice and a grilled tomato. The food was very tasty, but considering you pay $17 a pop here I did not consider it particularly good value for money. The meat portions were on the smaller side and besides the one tomato there were no other vegetables at all, not even a side salad. In light of the fact that I generally try to avoid carbs as much as possible, for me personally not the best choice. So if you like this kind of cuisine you will probably enjoy it a lot. If you are more into lean protein and fresh veggies, then I would recommend you go someplace else.
